my life is all about songs.

Some seek the tears

in unsuspecting eyes,

some share the joy of laughter

while others want to remind you

that the poor have dignity,

that the only uneducated person

is the one who doesn’t know

the meaning of friendship

and, as we are all friends here,

you are now a Doctor of Love,

A Poet of Peace, One of the People.

And what is my prescription?

Listen and sing, sing until

your throat is hoarse and

you just spent the night on

my couch in the living room

where most of these songs
